I was fortunate to join Grade 8 SBF Scholars and their families at the ceremony where they receive their new Wynberg Boys' blazers.

The ceremony was a celebration of the vision for young men who have passed through the hallways of Wynberg Boys' for the past 175 years. Each Grade 8 learner was not only receiving the official Wynberg Boys' blazer, but was also being welcomed into the proud history of the school by his Tutor, House Head, Grade Head and Mr Keith Richardson, the School Principal.

It was indeed special as we watched our boys from the SBF family join their fellow learners on stage. Each boy was accompanied by his Matric Buddy who handed over the blazer, shook hands and officially welcomed his Buddy who was ‘joining the link as a brother in the endless chain'.

We know that each SBF Scholar has been placed on the road to becoming an Ideal Wynberg Man and will uphold the values of 'friendliness, manners, pride, aiming high and never giving up'.
